Hassabis: Frontiers AI must not be launched in the United States, AGI may only have a few years left

According to CoinMeta, Google's Elon Musk stated that advanced AI models must not be launched in the United States, and such models may only have a few years left before being banned. He advocates that the U.S. should gradually upgrade the current voluntary model testing system to a mandatory market entry regime, requiring advanced AI companies to submit their models for review up to 30 days before release. Musk suggested establishing a standard-setting agency similar to the U.S. Financial Regulatory Agency, supervised by the federal government, with funding primarily coming from tech companies, as well as independent experts and representatives from open-source communities. Musk also mentioned that the White House has already introduced a voluntary review framework for advanced models, which is similar to his proposal, but he hopes to turn it into a mandatory entry requirement.
