Jørgen Hammeken-Holm, head of Greenland's autonomous government's mineral resources department, has expressed strong criticism, pointing out that the partner of the American energy company "Greenland Energy" transported drilling equipment to Greenland without permission and planned to begin oil extraction this autumn. The Greenland authorities emphasized that the necessary permits could not be obtained before next year under any circumstances, and issued a "strong warning" to relevant parties, clearly stating that such incidents must not happen again.
