Nasdaq applies to expand encryption options for ETF; may not require separate approval for SEC

According to CoinMeta, NASDAQ is applying to expand its options for cryptocurrencies due to the slow progress of the Clearing House Act. The exchange has just submitted a proposed rule change to the SEC that could standardize the listing process for crypto options. This would allow eligible crypto options to be launched without the need for separate approval each time. Investors will eventually be able to trade a portfolio that covers Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, and Doge Coin. NASDAQ has also replaced “crypto assets” with “digital commodities,” explicitly excluding securities. While progress on the Clearing House Act is stalled, Wall Street continues to evolve.
