According to CoinMeta, Trezor announced that a data breach at its logistics partner ShipMonk resulted in the exposure of personal information of 13,689 customers. In a security notice on August 13, ShipMonk stated that it became aware on August 10 that its system had been subjected to unauthorized access, and the investigation is still ongoing. The affected customers were those who placed orders with Trezor between May 10 and August 8, and they come from the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, and Portugal. Trezor claimed that its own system was not compromised, and that hardware wallets remained secure. Among the affected customers, 11,742 individuals had their names, email addresses, phone numbers, and mailing addresses exposed, while 1,947 customers had some of their information leaked. Trezor also noted that the number of affected customers was limited by its 90-day data retention policy, and that information related to older orders had been deleted or anonymized. The affected customers were notified individually via email, and those who did not receive such notifications were not impacted. ShipMonk has since strengthened its security measures to prevent such incidents from occurring again.
