JPMorgan Cuts Ties with Polymarket Due to Regulatory Issues
2026-08-14 23:41:23
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by the Financial Times, JPMorgan notified the prediction market platform Polymarket in October 2025 due to regulatory issues, requesting it to find a new bank. Nevertheless, JPMorgan has continued to maintain other forms of contact with Polymarket, and is said to be interested in Polymarket's future role in underwriting listings. Polymarket stated that it still maintains a "close and active relationship" with JPMorgan. Currently, Polymarket is cooperating with an undisclosed lender. Prediction markets are facing increasingly stringent regulatory scrutiny in the United States and other countries; more than a dozen U.S. states have taken legal action against Polymarket and Kalshi regarding sports event contracts, while regulatory authorities in several countries have also restricted or blocked access to Polymarket.
