Brickken CEO: AI cannot bear the responsibility for transaction losses; responsibility is determined by authorization.

According to CoinMeta, Edwin Mata, the CEO of Brickken, stated that AI agents began executing transactions and moving funds without continuous human approval. Therefore, responsibility should be attributed based on authorization, rather than to AI itself. According to a Sandmark report, existing laws do not provide clear answers regarding losses caused by autonomous financial agents, and courts need to examine the users, developers, platforms, and institutions involved in each transaction. The report indicates that contract law, negligence rules, product liability, and fiduciary duty may apply, depending on who controls the agent and the cause of the loss. Mata believes that responsibility should not be directly attributed to the software. Under current laws, AI is not a legal entity capable of bearing responsibility; rather, it is a technical system that acts on behalf of natural or legal persons.
