According to CoinMeta, the acquisition of AI Agent by Meta has escalated. Foreign media reports that Xiao Hong and Ji Yichao were summoned to Beijing this month by the National Development and Reform Commission for a meeting, where they were questioned about whether the domestic entities involved had completed the required reporting for foreign direct investment after the change in ownership of Manus. After the meeting, they were informed not to leave the country during the review period but were allowed to move freely within China. Previously, The New York Times had reported that executives were restricted from leaving the country, and subsequent reports from FT further identified Xiao Hong and Ji Yichao as the individuals subject to these restrictions. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that China is preparing to lift the travel restrictions on Xiao Hong and others, and Xiao Hong has informed his employees that he plans to return to Singapore soon. Manus has confirmed that it will resume independent operations this week, and the split-up plan is also basically in place. Original shareholders such as Tencent will participate in the repurchase, with Tencent becoming the largest single shareholder of Manus, although their shareholding will not exceed 50%.
