According to CoinMeta, after the EU's regulations came into full effect on July 1st, over 1,700 unlicensed crypto platforms were required to stop serving users within the EU. At that time, only 323 companies had valid licenses, meaning approximately 10 million users needed to migrate their assets. Regulatory authorities stated that scammers were taking advantage of this transition period by impersonating regulatory bodies or licensed exchanges, forging migration notifications and documents, and luring users into transferring their funds to fraudulent platforms. France, Europe, the Netherlands, and Austria have all issued warnings about such scams and advised users to verify whether the service providers are listed on the official registration lists before migrating their assets.
