Wintermute CEO: Regulatory Concerns Regarding Hyperliquid
2026-08-17 12:00:43
According to CoinMeta, in an interview on August 11 with The Archive Pod, Wintermute CEO Evgeny stated that Hyperliquid performs exceptionally well in categories such as RWA, commodities, and stocks. However, he has two concerns regarding its long-term development. The first is regulation; if the United States were to require platforms to implement KYC for users in the future, the difference between Hyperliquid and traditional centralized exchanges could become significantly smaller. The second concern is throughput. He believes that blockchain is not naturally suited for handling high-frequency transactions at the level of CME and NASDAQ. Therefore, he thinks that if Hyperliquid wants to truly compete with traditional markets, it may become more centralized.
