Saudi Aramco adjusts oil transportation strategy, may increase supply through the Strait of Hormuz

According to CoinMeta, Saudi Arabia is providing oil supplies loaded near the coast of Oman, which indicates that the country may be following in the footsteps of the UAE by transshipping more crude oil through the Strait of Hormuz. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Saudi Aramco is providing crude oil shipments loaded from locations such as Sohar in the Gulf of Oman on a ship-to-ship basis. The involved crude oil is of medium and heavy grades, suggesting that it is very likely to come from the Persian Gulf. Saudi Aramco’s CEO, Nayyar Nasser, stated in March that the main crude oil transported through the Yanbu pipeline is light and extra-light grade, with the country’s offshore oil fields primarily located within the Persian Gulf, constituting the majority of the country’s medium and heavy oil supply. Saudi Aramco has declined to comment on the above information.
