Nvidia provides financial support for OpenAI's data center in Ohio

According to CoinMeta, Nvidia announced on Monday that it will provide credit and computing power for OpenAI's new artificial intelligence data center in Ohio, with initial support of 4.25 gigawatts of computing power, and the option to add an additional 3.75 gigawatts. The data center is expected to be launched in phases in 2028 and will be built and managed by SB Energy within Pike City's Ports-Pike technology park. OpenAI and SB Energy have signed a 20-year lease agreement. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, stated, "We are providing long-term infrastructure for Nvidia's computing needs so that OpenAI can deploy the most productive AI factories." In addition, Nvidia will also invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy; OpenAI stated that the new data center will support the creation of 35,000 new construction jobs and 2,500 permanent positions by 2032.
