According to CoinMeta, Iranian officials stated that Iran has set a deadline of a few weeks for the United States to fully comply with the Iran-US understanding memorandum, and that Iran will not wait indefinitely for the US to continue with the maritime blockade. The official mentioned that due to the deadlock in efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement with the US, Iran has decided to shift its policy from defensive to a more offensive stance. If diplomatic efforts fail, Iran is prepared to escalate tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Middle East region. Iran's timeline will be communicated to the US through mediation countries. On August 17th, the 60-day negotiation period stipulated by the US-Iran understanding memorandum expired, and negotiations between the two countries reached a stalemate due to serious disagreements over issues such as the Strait of Hormuz, with no substantial progress made.
