Bitwise CIO: Bitcoin is not the biggest winner
2026-08-18 02:22:18
According to CoinMeta, Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan stated that Bitcoin is not the biggest winner at the upcoming White House meeting. Although Bitcoin usually benefits when the government shows support for the crypto market, he believes that decentralized finance (DeFi) applications such as Uniswap and Chainlink are the greater potential winners. Hougan pointed out that the current valuations of these platforms only reflect the approximately $2 trillion scale of the crypto market, and if tokenization expands as expected, they could enter a stock market worth about $150 trillion or a bond market worth about $200 trillion. He also mentioned that although the crypto industry hopes to pass the Clear Act before the mid-term elections, the current likelihood of passage is only 20%.
