Ethereum researchers propose to introduce a self-funded privacy pool in the upgrade of 2027

According to CoinMeta, Ethereum researchers have proposed that two transaction changes be given priority in the 2027 upgrade, allowing privacy pools to pay network fees without the need for third-party intermediaries. Researcher Toni Wahrst from the Ethereum Foundation stated in a tweet on August 17th that the protocol architecture team hopes developers will prioritize framework transactions (EIP-8141) and mandatory inclusion lists (Focil or EIP-7805). This proposal aims to enhance wallets' control over verification, execution, and gas payments by introducing a programmable transaction format, thereby providing privacy pools with the ability to pay fees independently and eliminating the need for intermediaries.
