According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, the US prosecution has filed charges against a 59-year-old man named Edward Zimbardi, accusing him of promising monthly returns of 25% to over 6,000 investors around the world through “the crypto program”, resulting in losses of more than $165 million. The prosecution claims that Zimbardi did not purchase advertising packages as promised but instead used the funds for foreign exchange speculation, personal expenses, and payments to early investors. Zimbardi fled to Fiji in 2025 and was recently repatriated to the United States, facing multiple charges including telecommunications fraud, money laundering, and conspiracy to launder money.
