According to CoinMeta, China's Yangtze Memory Technology Co., Ltd. (YMTC) recently announced that it has become the world's third-largest NAND flash memory supplier, with a market share of 14%. According to Counterpoint Research data, YMTC made its debut in the top three for global NAND bit shipments in the second quarter, surpassing Japan's Kioxia. Despite the surge in shipments, YMTC still lags behind American companies Micron Technology and Kioxia in terms of revenue. In order to further consolidate its market position, YMTC plans to shift its product portfolio towards enterprise solid-state drives (ESSDs) in the second half of the year to meet the changing storage demands driven by artificial intelligence.
