Farcaster Seeking a new operations team after seven months
2026-08-18 13:05:27
According to CoinMeta, Rish Maheshwari, co-founder of Farcaster, stated on August 17 that Neynar is seeking a new team to operate Farcaster, Clanker and their developer platform. This process occurs less than seven months after Neynar acquired the decentralized social protocol from Merkle Manufactory. Maheshwari disclosed this search in a post on X, but Neynar has not yet named potential operators or set a deadline for proposals, nor has it revealed whether the process involves a sale, transfer of control, or other operational arrangements. This announcement marks the second leadership change for Farcaster in 2026. Neynar acquired Farcaster on January 21 and agreed to maintain the protocol, operate its main applications, and manage Clanker. The transaction included the protocol contract, codebase, and related developer operations. Neynar was already one of the main infrastructure providers for Farcaster prior to the transaction.
