Hyperliquid Policy Center Supports SEC to Revoke Rule No. 611
2026-08-18 15:10:01
According to CoinMeta, the Hyperliquid Policy Center and Douro Labs submitted a joint comment letter to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on August 17th, supporting the repeal of Rule 611 of NMS. This rule typically prohibits trading centers from executing orders at prices lower than those displayed elsewhere for protection. HPC and Douro pointed out in the letter that this pricing system does not match the operations of automated market makers and on-chain order books. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins stated that the proposal aims to simplify the market structure and reduce costs. HPC and Douro believe that the existing framework assumes that executable interest appears in the form of firm quotes, whereas automated market makers operate differently.
