Crude oil and diesel price gap hits a record high, BTC may be affected
2026-08-18 19:29:29
According to CoinMeta, the price difference between crude oil and diesel has reached a historical high of $102.20 per barrel, which may have an impact on Bitcoin. Recently, the war between Iran and Ukraine has disrupted global oil supply, leading to a further increase in diesel demand during the seasonal peak period. Analyses suggest that food prices are about to rise, as agriculture relies on diesel-powered equipment and transportation, and the demand for heating oil in winter is also increasing. Although oil prices have fallen from their highs in the second quarter, the prices of oil products continue to rise, which could affect the gains of Bitcoin. At the same time, the US dollar index has dropped to a two-month low, and a historically weaker US dollar provides support for Bitcoin.
