U.S. 30-year Treasury yield hits a new high since 2007

According to CoinMeta, the yield on 30-year U.S. Treasury bonds rose above 5.3% on August 17, reaching a high of around 5.314% during the session, setting a new record for the actual yield on 30-year bonds since 2007, which is also close to 3%. Meanwhile, reports from Galaxy indicate that the scale of crypto-backed mortgages has decreased by $22.53 billion from its peak. Cryptoslate believes that higher yields on long-term government bonds have increased the competitive pressure for funds in assets such as BTC that do not generate native income, but the contraction in crypto credit also means that some of the previous leverage risks have been cleared.
