Mitsubishi UFJ Increases Holdings in MicroStrategy to 360,613 Shares

According to CoinMeta, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group is increasing its investment in MicroStrategy (the company behind this strategy), becoming the world's largest holder of Bitcoin-related assets. This Japanese financial giant currently holds 360,613 shares of MicroStrategy, an increase of 53,430 shares from the previous 307,183 shares, representing a growth of 17.4%, with a latest valuation of around $35 million. Mitsubishi UFJ indirectly holds Bitcoin through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management Company. Historical data shows that this asset management company was holding about 2,000 shares of MicroStrategy as early as 2011 and reported holding 3,700 shares in 2013. This position disappeared in several years' reports until it reappeared in 2023. By September 2023, Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management Company reported holding only 14 shares of MicroStrategy. By the end of 2024, the company had accumulated a total of about 103,000 shares of MicroStrategy.
