Citi Launches Bitcoin Custody Service, Wall Street Deepens Its Layout in the Crypto Market

According to CoinMeta, Citi has announced the launch of a Bitcoin custody service as part of its digital asset infrastructure, which is planned to be offered alongside traditional assets. This service will become part of Custody, allowing customers to access custody for both traditional securities and crypto assets through the same framework. Citi stated that over 80% of asset service transactions are now processed in real-time, and their Citi Token Services platform also enables customers to transfer tokenized deposits almost instantaneously in selected markets. This move responds to the ever-changing needs of the industry, and Citi also revealed plans to launch an institutional Bitcoin custody service in 2026.
