According to CoinMeta, a survey by 404 Media revealed that a AirTag hidden in orders for rare books was traced back to Amazon warehouses, where staff cut the spines of the books and scanned them to train AI. This is the first time the whereabouts of bulk book purchases related to the training of AI have been publicly tracked. Amazon confirmed that it purchased these books through commercial channels, and these books were destroyed during the process.
