South Korean think tank raises economic growth forecast to 3.2%
2026-08-19 11:21:24
According to CoinMeta, the Korea Development Institute ( KDI ) indicates that it expects South Korea's economy to grow by 3.2% in 2026, which is higher than the 2.5% forecast in May. This forecast is also above the 3% expectation of the South Korean government and the 2.6% forecast released last month by the International Monetary Fund ( IMF ). KDI points out that strong global demand for chips is expected to gradually trickle into South Korea's domestic economy, driving economic expansion. KDI also predicts that South Korea's exports will grow by 8.7% this year and 5% next year.
