According to CoinMeta, as reported by Bitcoin Magazine, FBI may have obtained information that allows them to identify the attackers responsible for the initial wave of Coldcard thefts. A Alex Thorn from Galaxy Research stated that the identity of the initial attackers "may already be known to law enforcement authorities." However, FBI has not yet publicly confirmed the identification of any suspects, the initiation of legal proceedings, arrests, or the recovery of any stolen bitcoins. A total of 1,082.65 BTC were stolen in this first incident, which, at the current bitcoin price of around $64,000, is valued at approximately $69 million. A Clay Garrett from Block Engineering mentioned that investigators have detected unusual patterns in the attackers' transactions on the blockchain; it is suspected that the attackers used a paid account to query source addresses from an unnamed blockchain data provider and carried out related activities. The investigation is still ongoing, and FBI has not confirmed any relevant information yet.
