According to CoinMeta, on August 18th, the Wyoming Stablecoin Commission announced that it had completed the migration of its FRNT stablecoin from LayerZero to the cross-chain interoperability protocol CCIP. As per the official release, Chainlink will provide exclusive cross-chain infrastructure for FRNT for a multi-year contract period. The commission will completely discontinue the use of LayerZero, and holders of FRNT do not need to take any action during the transition period. Anthony Apollo, the executive director of the commission, stated that the review identified issues with LayerZero in terms of disclosure practices and operational security. CCIP is the only system that meets the commission's requirements for security and reliability. The Wyoming state website describes FRNT as the first fully reserved stablecoin issued by a U.S. public entity, with reserves consisting of cash and short-term U.S. Treasury bonds, and the reserve income supports the state's school fund programs.
