Scaramucci: A decline in Bitcoin may indicate demand
2026-08-19 15:52:08
According to CoinMeta, Anthony Scaramucci, the founder of SkyBridge Capital, stated on August 18 that Bitcoin's latest bear market may contain an encouraging sign: its decline is less severe than in previous cycles. During a blockchain seminar in Wyoming, he discussed with Andrew Ross Sorkin of CNBC that this round of decline is "a clear bear market for Bitcoin." However, he believes that the depth of the sell-off may indicate that the buyer base is more resilient. Scaramucci mentioned that Bitcoin's decline from its peak to its trough was approximately 55%. Bitcoin has now rebounded to around $64,000, with the current pullback being about 49%. He also pointed out that although the current decline is smaller, it does not mean that Bitcoin has hit bottom, and buyers may not be able to prevent further declines. Scaramucci attributed part of the current market performance to the shift of capital towards artificial intelligence investments.
