Crude Oil Prices: Brent Tests $92, WTI Approaches $85

According to CoinMeta, before the release of U.S. inventory data, the price of Brent crude oil tested 92 dollars, while the price of WTI crude oil was close to 85 dollars. Due to the ongoing supply risks in the Strait of Hormuz, market attention to U.S. inventory data has intensified. On Wednesday, Brent crude oil futures rose by 26 cents to 91.28 dollars per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil in the United States rose by 37 cents to 85.31 dollars per barrel. This was the fourth consecutive trading day of increases, with both benchmark oil prices reaching their highest levels since July 24th on Tuesday. The latest price fluctuations are stemming from uncertainties between the United States and Iran. The temporary ceasefire agreement expired on Monday, and President Trump stated on Tuesday that there were no negotiations with Iran. Washington claims that the Strait of Hormuz is open, while Iran insists that shipping is still restricted, leaving traders uncertain about the speed at which normal oil flows will be restored.
