According to CoinMeta, Coinbase announced the integration of perpetual contracts for Base App through Hyperliquid, supporting a maximum leverage of 50 times. This product covers over 290 perpetual contract markets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, tokenized stocks, and commodities. Chintan Turakhia, the project leader for Coinbase, stated that perpetual contracts account for 75% of cryptocurrency trading volume and are the feature that Base App's most active users are most eager to see added. Transactions are executed by Hyperliquid, and users do not need to leave their existing wallets. This product is not currently available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, or other jurisdictions that restrict leveraged crypto derivatives. Jesse Pollak, the founder of Base, mentioned that predictive markets, perpetual contracts, and stablecoins are becoming stronger drivers of adoption.
