According to CoinMeta, the minutes of today's Federal Reserve meeting will be released at 10 p.m. (ET). At the July meeting, the Federal Reserve decided to maintain interest rates at 3.50%-3.75% with a vote of 9 to 3. Three officials who held different opinions favored an interest rate hike, as inflation was still above the Fed's target of 2%. Currently, the market expects a 30% probability of an interest rate hike in September. The key question is what the concerns of the other nine officials are; are they more concerned about high inflation, or do they believe that higher interest rates could further weaken the labor market? If the meeting minutes focus on inflation, an interest rate hike in September is still possible. If officials are more concerned about weak employment, then the likelihood of another rate-hike-free period is greater.
