Trump expresses dissatisfaction with the Fed's interest rate policy, saying the U.S. should pay lower interest rates

According to CoinMeta, Trump stated on Wednesday that he was disappointed with the Federal Reserve's failure to lower interest rates, arguing that strong economic data should not prevent central banks from adopting more accommodative policies. He accused Fed officials of having political motives, but exempted Chairman Kevin Warsh, saying that he had performed exceptionally well. Trump noted that Warsh has held the position since May, succeeding Jerome Powell. Trump said, "The problem is that he has a political committee," and mentioned that many members of the committee were appointed by Obama, Biden, and himself. Although the Fed has not voted to raise benchmark interest rates in the past three years, Trump believes that lowering interest rates is necessary to maintain economic growth and alleviate the financing burden of nearly $40 trillion in debt.
