According to CoinMeta, Iran plans to announce a new passage through the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Central Command stated that as of August 19, they had forced 65 merchant ships to change their routes, resulting in 3 vessels becoming unable to operate and 2 ships being inspected. U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that the United States has full control over the strait and mentioned that negotiations could take place at an appropriate time. Iran denies that it is engaged in direct dialogue with the United States. In the first four months of this year, Iran earned $7.5 billion in foreign exchange revenue related to oil.
