According to CoinMeta, at a time when the U.S. debt exceeds $40 trillion, Trump has opened the possibility of Bitcoin. Data from the Treasury Department shows that as of August 19, the total public debt has reached an astonishing $40.049 trillion. Of this, approximately $32.266 trillion is held by the public, while another $7.782 trillion is Washington's debt to federal accounts (including trust funds). Since Trump took office as president, the total debt has more than doubled from around $19.95 trillion.
