DMG Securities: Although the yields on long-term U.S. Treasury bonds are attractive, investors lack confidence

According to CoinMeta, strategists Gennadiy Goldberg and Molly Brooks from TD Securities pointed out in a report that, in terms of both real and nominal yields, the yields on U.S. long-term government bonds are currently quite attractive. However, insufficient investor confidence means that yields may continue to face pressure in the short term. They stated that to alleviate the pressure on long-term government bonds, the market needs the Federal Reserve to issue a more credible stance on inflation, the U.S. Treasury Department to more clearly signal a reduction in the supply of long-term government bonds, an improvement in investor demand, a slowdown in the supply of investment-grade bonds, or for concerns about economic growth to resurface. On Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury Department announced that it would increase its repurchases of long-term government bonds in order to curb the sharp rise in borrowing costs.
