Citi may become one of the core underwriting banks for Anthropic IPO
2026-08-21 06:31:20
According to CoinMeta, sources familiar with the matter revealed that the artificial intelligence company Anthropic is planning to bring in Citigroup to join its initial public offering (IPO) underwriting team. If successful, Citigroup will join Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan Chase in playing a core underwriting role. Anthropic may submit its listing application to regulatory authorities as early as the end of this month. The qualification to be a core underwriter for a large-scale IPO not only implies substantial underwriting commission revenue but also helps to enhance the investment bank's position in the equity financing market. This year, Citigroup has risen to the forefront of underwriting rankings in the United States due to its participation in the record $86.2 billion IPO project of SpaceX. Sources stated that the preparatory work for Anthropic's listing is still underway, and the final list of underwriting team members may be adjusted, with the possibility of additional investment banks joining as well.
