According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has imposed a five-year trading ban on former CEO Caroline Ellison and co-founder Zixiao Gary Wang due to their roles in the collapse of a crypto exchange. The CFTC also requires Ellison to be prohibited from registration for 10 years and Wang for 8 years. In addition, U.S. prosecutors have filed charges against a individual, accusing them of profiting over $400,000 by using non-public information on a market forecasting platform Polymarket.
