According to CoinMeta, as reported by ITAR (IRNA), during the visit of Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Khamenei to Iraq, one of the most important demands made by Iraq to Tehran was for the issuance of special permits for Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. This request had previously been submitted to Iran through multiple channels on several occasions. Despite Iran being subjected to the harshest military actions and the severe deterioration of security conditions in the Strait of Hormuz due to U.S. hostile actions, Iran ultimately decided to grant permits for some Iraqi oil tankers to pass through the strait.
