Block space profit model shifts, arbitrum and megaeth begin to develop their own applications
2026-08-22 22:43:01
According to CoinMeta, a report compiled by ShenChao, titled Castle Labs Research, indicates that the gap between on-chain transaction fees and application transaction fees is widening, making it difficult for block space to support high valuations. Projects such as arbitrum and polygon have increased their revenue through ecosystem expansion, while megaeth and sophon have turned to developing their own applications to internalize profits. Although off-chain models like timeboost and superchain have achieved certain results, they still rely on the performance of their ecosystems and tokens. After base left the market, its revenue declined. New chains need to internalize value through developing their own applications and stablecoins to increase actual usage rates and form a vertically integrated revenue model.
