Polygon Foundation CEO Sandeep Proposes Reforms in Staking and Token Economics
2026-08-23 10:21:00
According to CoinMeta, Wu said that the Polygon Foundation CEO Sandeep revealed that the team is advancing a proposal for reforms in staking and token economics. The new plan aims to introduce native staking in Polygon POS and allocate the priority fee for each transaction to the POL stakers. It is expected that after the reform, the staking rewards in POL will nearly double, and these rewards will come entirely from real network fees rather than token issuance. In addition, the plan also intends to provide potential gas fee discounts and other additional incentives for POL stakers. Polygon Labs will submit the proposal to the community for approval after completing the code writing.
