According to CoinMeta, large banks have submitted a comment letter to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) through the Bank Policy Research Institute, requesting that customer identification requirements be extended to the secondary stablecoin market. This request aims to extend the regulations applicable to stablecoin issuers to exchanges that have direct relationships with retail customers.
