Fed's Kashkari: The U.S. Treasury market is still operating normally
2026-08-24 00:38:50
According to CoinMeta, Federal Reserve official Kashkari stated that the U.S. Treasury market is still operating normally, alleviating concerns about rising Treasury yields. He pointed out that there is sufficient market liquidity, and the recent surge in yields is unlikely to affect discussions on monetary policy. Kashkari mentioned that the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note closed at around 4.73%, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury note remained near its highest level since 2007. He noted that although current yields are relatively high compared to historical levels, they are still lower than those of the 1990s. Kashkari emphasized that more data is needed to determine the future direction of policy, but he does not currently believe that inflation will return to target levels in the short term.
