Wintermute Reversely Held 160 Million USD in Crypto Short Positions; 90% of Tokens Have Appreciated

According to CoinMeta, as of press time, among the 76 major perpetual contracts that traded over $1 million in the past 24 hours, 66 saw increases, accounting for about 86.8% of the total, with a median increase of around 4.6%. BTC rose by about 1.8%, ETH by about 2.7%, and some altcoins experienced increases of over 10%. Amid the general surge in crypto asset prices, three market maker addresses labeled as Wintermute, Cumberland, and Auros were forced to take on large sell orders but collectively held approximately $230 million in crypto short positions, with only about $9.93 million in long positions, resulting in a net short exposure of around $220 million. Currently, they have incurred a total floating loss of about $6.92 million. A single address for Wintermute holds 61 short positions worth about $163 million. The combined short positions for ETH, BTC, SOL, and HYPE are close to $100 million. Cumberland and Auros have short positions of about $20.63 million and $46.87 million respectively.
