According to CoinMeta, South Korean sources said on Monday that South Korean President Lee Jae-myeong may meet with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-hee this week, during which they could discuss three major South Korean projects centered around semiconductors and artificial intelligence. Just a few days ago, Lee Jae-myeong met with the chairman of the SK group, Choi Tae-won. The sources also mentioned that Lee Jae-myeong might meet with Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chairman Chung Eui-sun this week as well. These talks have drawn attention amid speculation that the United States is requesting South Korea to increase its investment in the US semiconductor industry in accordance with Seoul's commitments regarding investments to the US. However, South Korean Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jong-kwan previously stated that South Korea has not yet held discussions with Washington on these matters.
