According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Bloomberg, the World Liberty Financial entity under the Trump family has received conditional approval from the US Federal Reserve (OCC) to establish a national trust bank. One of the main objectives is to expand the use of USD1 and to store the reserve assets that support this stablecoin within its own banking system, in order to reduce costs and enhance compliance and market credibility. Data shows that in the first 19 months of Trump's second term, OCC approved 22 bank licensing applications, exceeding the total number from the previous five years combined. Moreover, the approval process for many of these applications from fintech and digital asset companies World Liberty took about 220 days, which is longer than the median of about 126 days during this administration. Before final approval, the company still needs to meet conditions such as external audits and sufficient capital.
