According to CoinMeta, Claude Code has once again raised doubts among users. When users were selecting between high and effort, the model displayed that the value of effort was only 10. Users suspected that Anthropic had secretly reduced high to low. A member of the Claude Code team, Thariq, later denied this, stating that it was due to testing different backend configurations and that the digital mapping had changed. They emphasized that the high selected by users was still high. Users reacted strongly to this, as in March of this year, Anthropic had previously reduced the default value of Claude Code from high to medium, leading to users complaining that the model had become less efficient, before the original settings were eventually restored.
