2026-08-25 12:32:05
According to CoinMeta, the social security COLA (cost-of-living adjustment) in 2027 is expected to be the largest in four years, with the current estimate being 3.6%. This projection comes from the Senior Citizens Alliance and is expected to increase the average pension by about $70 per month. The announcement date for the social security COLA is set for October 14th, when the Social Security Administration will confirm the official figure based on inflation data from July to September. Different organizations have varying predictions, ranging from AARP of 3.5% to TSCL of 3.9%. If the 3.6% figure holds true, pensions will increase from approximately $1,937.53 to around $2,007, which would be the largest dollar increase since 2023.
