Whale pension-USDT . ETH ETH suffers a huge loss of $24 million in short selling

According to CoinMeta, on August 20th, a whale account with the identifier pension-USDT.ETH closed a short position in ETH that it had held for about 60 days. The trade, involving 50,000 lots, resulted in a loss of approximately $23.926 million, making this account the biggest loser in this round of market movements and also the largest account to experience a margin call. This single margin call accounted for one-tenth of the total $1 billion in margin calls across the network on that day. Prior to this, this whale account had been profitable in 23 consecutive trades, with a cumulative profit of about $19.127 million. This single loss was equivalent to 125.1% of its previous 23 consecutive profits, not only erasing all of that gain but also resulting in an additional loss of about $4.8 million. The whale account began this short position in ETH on June 20th at an average price of around $1,648.2, and the average closing price was about $2,126.7. During the period of holding this position, the value of ETH increased by about 29.0%.
