According to CoinMeta, Wu said that the U.S. Treasury Department announced the establishment of a Quantum Readiness Working Group to facilitate a orderly transition of the U.S. financial industry to quantum-safe technologies and post-quantum cryptography. This working group, which is a public-private partnership, will bring together governments, financial institutions, financial market infrastructure providers, technology vendors, and other private sector participants. Its focus will be on promoting coordination within the financial industry for the transition to quantum computing, preparing third parties and suppliers, as well as addressing risks associated with digital assets and emerging technologies. The working group is based on Executive Order 14412 issued by the Trump administration and takes into account the roadmap for transitioning to post-quantum cryptography developed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) expert group.
