According to CoinMeta, Citigroup expects that in 2026, Korean companies will set a record for their issuance volume in the global bond and stock markets. Among them, the issuance of sk Hynix, which amounted to $26.5 billion in the US market, is particularly notable. Jangho Park, the CEO of Citigroup Global Finance Korea, stated that Korea is home to an increasing number of "world-class enterprises and leaders in emerging industries" that are increasingly utilizing capital markets with competitive financing conditions to raise funds for their growth goals. As Citigroup makes this optimistic forecast, two major Korean chip manufacturers are becoming key beneficiaries of global artificial intelligence infrastructure construction. Korea is seeking to encourage companies including Samsung Electronics and sk Hynix to invest at least 1350 trillion won (975 billion US dollars) in chip and data center construction, although many projects are still in the early planning stages.
