According to CoinMeta, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated in a Katie Miller podcast that California's proposed billionaire tax plan constitutes "unconstitutional asset forfeiture," and mentioned that Coinbase is "open to any and all relocation options." Previously, Armstrong and Coinbase indicated in 2021 that they would permanently close their San Francisco office, but the company signed a four-year lease for a 150,000-square-foot office space in San Francisco in 2025.
